Commissions
The studio’s artist in residence, LeesaB, has completed the three commissions she was working on during February and is please to say each piece has been delivered to the pleased and delighted recipients. Guest Artist
March’s guest artist Jennifer Hannig-Frost is a practicing Fine Artist who graduated from Griffith University in 2010. Jennifer majored in painting and has also a keen interest in digital art making.
All of Jennifer’s works are inspired by the intrinsic properties of paint. The alchemy of paint is a concept which has not been taken seriously in both Modernism and Postmodernism.
As a result, her work is inspired by the challenge of representing this; showcasing and questioning our connection with paint. Jennifer creates her paintings by pouring paint without using a brush. The temperature, chemical reactions and the time, over which she does it, all affect the outcome. A mixture of oil, acrylic and enamel paints is overlaid to reveal macro and micro worlds.
Jennifer has participated in several group exhibitions and had her first solo exhibition at Fine Design Consultants located in Milton, Qld in 2010. Her work is included in many private collections throughout Queensland and Victoria.
